Poetry

Sakura Kiss
(A McLeodian Hana - a 4 line, trimeter poem with an abab rhyme pattern; subject is always Japanese flora)

Cherry blossoms drift down
Floating through the still air.
Graceful twirls like a gown,
Showing a world more fair

Aokigahara Forest

Darkened forest calms,
Solemn feelings resonate
Death comes swift for most.

Choices

Two rams interlocked in a pointless battle of strength,
Attempting to prove their belief is correct.
Is this battle worth fighting?
Personal axioms clash, opposite opinions thrown aside.
Options are stolen from those who desire them,
Should everything not be chosen by an individual?
Why do some assume they have a right and others do not,
Advocating one opinion, acting by another?
'Special' cases are non-existent.
Beliefs lost in situations of struggle,
No longer a solid foundation on which to stand.
Beliefs lost when they are no longer pleasing,
Reality collides. Accept your faith in all situations,
Or accept that others have different beliefs
that don't coincide with yours.
